District 21 State Representative,

Dustin Roberts

Working Hard For You

My name is Dustin Roberts, and I'm committed to making your voice heard at the Oklahoma State Capitol.  Like you, I want to play an active role in making my community, state, and country a safer, better place to live, run your business, and forge a future filled with unlimited promise.

As State Representative, my top priority is and will be to address the following critical issues:

We need to continue to evaluate the tax breaks and other costly incentives that do nothing to help our economy. We must help local businesses survive, grow and most importantly, hire new employees.

Fight for line item budgeting and bring the power of the budgeting process back to the legislators and away from the department heads.  Too often, agencies cut programs that help citizens and are vital to the Oklahoma Standard, to force the legislators to appropriate more tax dollars to the agency.  I will continue to FIGHT against this costly waste in government spending.

Maintaining the quality and standards at local schools, career tech centers, and colleges is essential for our children’s future and maintaining our great teachers.  Removing costly programs at the State Department of Education and moving those dollars to the state funding formula.  We have to promote an environment conducive to “More Dollars in the Classroom.”

Our great state has moved in the right direction with road and bridge projects with increased funding, but there is much work left to do.  Maintaining our roads and bridges is a top priority and is vital to growth of our state.

I look forward to working in the next legislative session on appropriating funds in a long term manner and on a line item budget.  We have made steps in the right direction with the passage of the “Energy Stabilization Fund” allowing the state to save monies in the big budget years. Now it is time to look into the line item budgeting process to rein in the agencies giving the control of the funds back to the elected officials.

If you share my vision, I urge you to connect with me and help make it happen! Together, we can make OK House District 21 a stronger district for a greater state.
